SYNOPSIS:

Kramer - a banker sent to prison on charges of robbing his own bank, which in fact was the job of the safe-breaker artist Kwinto – escapes from his confinement. He refuses to flee to Switzerland immediately because he wants to take his revenge on Kwinto. The latter lives a quiet life, growing vegetables in his garden and enjoying family life. He learns from press reports about Kramer’s escape. Also alarmed is a friend of Kwinto’s nicknamed the Dane, now involved in the film-making business. Kramer hires a hit man who turns up for a casting and wounds the Dane. The idea is to lure Kwinto out of his lair. On top of that, Kramer’s men kidnap the daughter of a deceased friend of Kwinto’s and lock her up in a safe. The retired safe-breaking genius rescues the little girl and manages to extract himself from a fiery trap set up by Kramer. The police are misled to believe that Kwinto died when he tried to save the child. Kramer sets out on his way to Switzerland. The Polish-German and German-Swiss border checkpoints which he crosses are in fact film sets build by the Dane and his crew just a few miles from Warsaw. Kramer never gets to Swizterland. But Kwinto and his friend the Dane do get there and cash in checks signed by Kramer drunk with his illusive victory.
